Dearest Mum
Wherever you are mum ( with dad I’m sure ) I wanted to wish you a happy birthday ( it’s a few days late but I know you won’t mind) and to tell you about all the wonderful things that have been happening with my family.
I was so unhappy for such a long time after you left us, my heart was broken in two , but I’m happy now. You met Ava just before you left and I have always felt that she was an angel you left behind for me. She is three and a half years old now. I guess Ava and I will always have a special relationship because she came into my life as you left, and she eased some of the heartache I felt at losing you. Nobody else could do this for me .
I have another two grandchildren now mum. Millie is nearly two , she is mischievous and adorable. You would love her. She looks just like Heidi, I know you would agree.
I have a grandson too, called Charlie. He looks just like Matt when he was born. I love them all so much, but it has been my only disappointment in life, that you couldn’t see me be a grandma and share it with me . They bring me such joy.
Mum , you will not believe this…… Heidi is pregnant. She is married now to (Craig) he adores her. It is absolutely wonderful and miraculous . She had her IVF and would you believe, it worked first time. She is ten weeks pregnant. I cannot put into words how happy I am for her. It is the only wish I have ever had, that Heidi would experience motherhood, given that she will make such a wonderful mum. I know that had you been here, you would have been overjoyed to experience this wonderful journey with her .
Some sad things have happened too, Mel and Phil broke up, but Mel is now happy with her new man, and she is getting married next summer. Graham and I broke up, I guess you knew that would happen, but it’s okay he is happy now and so am I .
Mum I think of you every day and miss you so much. But, it always feels as if you are with me. I always take you with me when I go to the theatre, I wear your ring or something that belonged to you. I have done so much travelling since you left, what a wonderful legacy you left me , the confidence to travel (sometimes alone) and meet new people. Tillie and I worked in Africa for a few weeks. We took lots of your clothes and gave them to the women in the village. I know this will make you smile.
Matt is good, he is enjoying being a daddy and he has married a lovely lady called Natalie. They are wonderful parents.
Tillie has left college and did exceptionally well. She now works in my business and is a real asset. She is a joy to me , and has grown into a caring , beautiful young lady. She has your zest for life and will not sit on the fence and let life pass her by.
Alex did well at college too, and has finally settled down. He is now an assistant manager at a shoe shop. You know how much he loves shoes , so you won’t be surprised to hear this !
You would be so proud of them all as I am . I am so lucky to have them, and to have had you as my mother. There is so much love in us all, I miss you everyday, and we chuckle sometimes when we talk about you , this is how it should be.
Wonderful memories ……………….

Your loving daughter , Bev x
